Στο βορειοανατολικό κομμάτι του ιερού, περίπου 130 μέτρα βορειοανατολικά από τον ναό του Ασκληπιού, βρίσκονται τα Ρωμαϊκά Λουτρά. Όταν οι Ρωμαίοι κυβερνούσαν την Ελλάδα, το ιερό της Επιδαύρου συνέχιζε να δέχεται αρρώστους. Ο Παυσανίας γράφει ότι ένας Ρωμαίος συγκλητικός, δηλαδή μέλος του μεγάλου συμβουλίου της Ρώμης, ο Αντωνίνος, έχτισε στην Επίδαυρο πολλά κτίρια, ανάμεσά τους και ένα λουτρό του Ασκληπιού. Κάποιοι συγγραφείς πιστεύουν ότι είναι αυτά εδώ τα βορειοανατολικά λουτρά. Ο ίδιος Αντωνίνος έφτιαξε πράγματα και ψηλά, στο ιερό του Απόλλωνα Μαλεάτα, ανάμεσά τους μια δεξαμενή για το νερό της βροχής. Τον 4ο αιώνα μ.Χ. τα λουτρά άλλαξαν: οι χτίστες έφτιαξαν μικρά χωριστά δωμάτια, όπου μπορούσε να λουστεί ένας άνθρωπος μόνος του. Εκείνη την εποχή, στα μέσα του 4ου αιώνα μ.Χ., οργάνωσαν ξανά το κέντρο του ιερού, και το Άβατο εγκαταλείφθηκε μόνο μετά το 426 μ.Χ. Από εδώ, περίπου 150 μέτρα νοτιοδυτικά, φτάνεις στο Άβατο, όπου κοιμούνταν οι άρρωστοι.

The Roman Baths — Baths from Roman times, with rooms for one person
In the north-east part of the sanctuary, about 130 metres north-east of the Temple of Asclepius, lie the Roman Baths. When the Romans ruled Greece, the sanctuary of Epidaurus still welcomed the sick. Pausanias writes that a Roman senator, a member of Rome’s great council, Antoninus, built many things at Epidaurus, among them a bath of Asclepius. Some writers think it is these north-east baths. The same Antoninus also made things up at the sanctuary of Apollo Maleatas, among them a cistern for rainwater. In the 4th century AD the baths were changed: the builders made small separate rooms where one person could bathe alone. Around that time, in the middle of the 4th century AD, the centre of the sanctuary was reorganised, and the Abaton was abandoned only after AD 426. From here, about 150 metres to the south-west, you reach the Abaton, where the sick slept.
